Are these tiny cracks all over my dome? Seems to be concentrated to the front of the dome. Covers almost all of the front half.
Would this be covered under warranty?

yes that is cracks in the glaze, no idea if warranty will cover as cosmetic only

Those are just cracks in the glaze/paint. I don’t know if it’s even worth trying to get a warranty replacement on. It isn’t affecting your cooks.

It’s called “crazing” and is totally normal for glazed ceramics, although high temps make it happen sooner. It’s not a defect, so it’s not a warranty issue.
It’s part of the normal aging process and has no impact on functionality. As a (very) rough analogy, it’s similar to how humans develop lines on their faces as they get older – it’s not a cause for concern, it’s just how things are… so there’s no need to worry about it.

Every ceramic Kamado has these. Nothing to worry about and as everyone is saying, 100% normal.

Yeah crazing but this is the first time I’ve seen it on a BGE and not KJ

They’re the BGE equivalent of laugh lines. Signs of a well lived life!

On the first photo, it looks like just below the center on the left is your BGE heart.

My BGE is a few weeks old and it has this so called craquelure pattern in its coating. It’s perfectly normal because BGE has a ceramic frit that consists of finely ground glass particles mixed with pigments and inorganic binders, which are then fused onto the surface of the Egg.

Our BGE is 18 years old and has these. It’s normal
