I have a smoker, grill and oven (large) so any tips or ways to cook will do. Also, recommend which type!

  1. liver anything is so good but not good for you

organ meats are tasty if your mind is strong but some people will have susceptibility to gout after eating them

  2. Ask a South African about steak and kidney pie…

Tongue in crock pot was really good. I think I did a teriyaki or Caribbean jerk marinade.

Heart, I cut in strips and pan fry in butter. Season like a steak. I like garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, lawry’s, and parsley.

Liver and onions is always good.

Gizzards I cook like the heart or liver.

I love marinating chicken hearts, skewering them on rosemary sprigs, and grilling. Delicious.

  5. If you’re used to traditional cuts of muscle the short answer is no. They’ll be an aquired taste.

I do like cow liver (in small amounts,) skewered chicken heart, and beef tongue tacos.

  7. Chicken hearts and gizzards are amazing. That’s the only organ meat I have tried though

They’re an acquired taste fs but my favorites from my cuisine are goat brain, spleen and tongue.

I like offal but it has to be prepared. Liver gets a soak in buttermilk or lemon water for a minimum of 4 hours. Intestines are cleaned then blanched then boiled with strong aromatics like garlic, ginger, or anise before frying or grilling. Heart I like to slice thin and tenderize with a bit of baking soda before marinating. Organ meats are delicious when you take the time to prepare them but it does take time and most people don’t want or care enough to do that.

I’ve tried a few and for me it’s not my thing, I don’t think anything that acts like a filter is ok to consume.

  11. In extreme moderation. Too much liver can give you vitamin A poisoning.

Too much organ meat can give you gout.

I like a nice deviled lamb kidney every now and again but organs are a sometimes food. None of them are terribly healthy (yes they can be high in various vitamins, but also tend to have a lot of cholesterol and fat). They are delicious if cooked right, but eating it too often will give you gout, among other things.

I rarely eat liver anymore because I have a condition with excess iron, also I understand what a liver’s function is, so it feels like eating a gross pool filter.

Beef liver quickly seared in smoking butter, salted and chomped. Makes an insane sandwich with ketchup and butter.

I no longer am allowed because gout. Now I feed the goodies to my hound.

I mean foie gras is kinda popular. I’ve had it once it’s good but I highly doubt I’ll ever buy it again.

Charcoal grilled chicken hearts are fantastic.

Chitlins are an example of organ meat and they are terrible but then again I’m using the worst example of organ meat lmao

  19. Liver and onions, fried chicken gizzards, pan fried chicken hearts with veggies

  20. No_Communication2959

Depends on the organ and how you treat it.

I could eat fried chicken livers any day of the week.

  21. Fell in love with “mollejas” during travels to Argentina. Known in the US as sweetbreads. It’s the thymus glands from beef. Grilled until crispy and splashed with lemon. Cook it regularly here in North Carolina now

  22. Livers chipped with chopped garlic , hot green peppers and marinate with cumin and vinegar , fry all that together and you got your self amazing plate
