Won’t know until tomorrow when I slice..but I’ve always dreamed of getting a higher quality steak for choice prices! Do you guys think I got lucky or will I have to keep trying?!

I wanna say highway robbery, but that’s just Kirkland products. All the Costco meat is crazy overpriced, they just scale things different to trick you into bulk spending.

I’ve had a lot of luck with choice tenderloin. A lot more luck than with prime to be honest. Cutting them and putting them out side by side every day in a service counter, it was startling how much better the choice looked than the prime a lot of the times. Inspectors just don’t grade based on tenderloin. Good luck with it.

It’s $28 because you got an extreme trimmed tenderloin. Buy a whole unpeeled and learn to do the trimming yourself and you will save yourself some $$$.

That must be a smaller tenderloin. The beef at my Costco is ridiculous. I dont even price tenderloins anymore. They were around the 100$ market for an average choice and now they’ve got so ridiculous – i dont even look.

Not bashing the price yet. How trimmed was it? Was the chain, heel and tips trimmed off of it?

I pay that for a full untrimmed prime tenderloin you got fleeced

Can I just say the fact that we are considering 28 bux a pound a good price it’s obscene. I haven’t tried it yet but almost two weeks ago i went to a local farmer’s market and there was a new vendor. A small farm that only raises pasture grass fed cows. A 3/4 lb ribeye that looked amazing was just a tiny bit over $20. I googled them later and they gotta say their reviews were outstanding. I just bought it on a whim.

By the way, they vacuum seal and freeze all their meats immediately. I’ve heard phenomenal things, and I’m looking forward to trying it. Plus I’d rather give a small local business my $$$. At least I can understand why they’re charging more. Not only have warehouse and supermarket, meat prices been insane, but the quality has been so crappy.
