When I lived in Iran, People did cook eggs with *one* stone. They’d put a little ghee in a concave in a large flat rock over a fire, throw an egg in it and presto! fully cooked egg in about 30 seconds. Served with Persian rice, it was one of my favorite street foods.

Why not use a double boiler/pan system to cook your eggs? Let that heat float upwards, as it does, to cook the eggs in a pan above it? Then you won’t need to sift through the rocks to get your eggs.
