I was super excited to try this brand since joining this subreddit and I’m a big fan of chewy cookies in ice cream. I’ve been looking for the Hagen Daaz brown butter cookie ice cream but can’t find it anywhere in my area and this was the next closest thing. I loved the texture of the cookies. They were buttery and very delightful in chew against the creamy base. As for the flavor of the base itself, it was a bit TOO salty for my taste. I understand that’s the point of this flavor and it’s in the name but whew. It was extremely salty. I felt the same way about Jeni’s Peach jam and biscuits flavor. I understand the sweet and salty contrast is popular and can be very yummy but the intensity of the salt really did throw it off for me and I noticed the chocolate chip pieces had an oddly bitter aftertaste. Overall, I did enjoy the textures and the concept but I don’t think I’d get this one again. 6.5. I want to try the strawberry shortbread flavor next. Curious to know if you like this flavor if you’ve tried it?

I found the same level to be perfect. I also agree with your thoughts on the cookie mix instead, they are really buttery and chewy and delightful. McConnell’s uses Guittard semi sweet chocolate , there shouldn’t be any bitter notes, it’s very high quality chocolate.
