I sacrificed an old cooler and used my solar generator to keep the cook going for the hour drive. Should have scarified the cooler before, makes it much more efficient, plus the cooler is nearly watertight so it traveled well.

**This is a generic reminder message under every image post**

Thank you for your picture post to r/souvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

    Thank you!!

  3. Just the excuse I needed to get one of those fat charger stations!

  4. Before cheap circulators were available, we used to sous vide low tech style by putting a thermometer in a cooler, and topping if off with boiling water every half hour or so. Once the protein has been brought up to temp, it stays pretty stable in a good cooler.
