Got some Korean take out tonight: Galbi and meat cheon, bulgogi and meat cheon, donkatsu and galbi, bbq chicken and bulgogi with assorted banchan. We were stuffed and have leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch as well!

Looks like a Hawaiian bbq plate to me 🤔

  2. I’d bet a dollar to a donut that what you had was Yummi’s or Yummy’s. It’s a chain in Hawaii and when ever my kids come to visit me, they ask for this as their first meal and get some of the same banchan. I bet they had a spicy pork dish as well. It’s a great chain with restaurants everywhere in Hawaii. My local one is a grab and go place, with the front no larger than 12 by 12 with only 2 small 2 seat tables. There are others that are fancier with booths and and 4 top seating. If you gonto one of those, you MIGHT be lucky to get spicy stir fried squid.

  3. Sometimes seeing Korean food in America feels weird because it’ll all be recognizable, but in bizarre combinations.

Soon’s BBQ on Salt Lake was one of my go-tos when I lived near Pearl Harbor. Want some now.
