Had my BGE for about six months., used it most weekends since then
Noticed as I was cleaning up after a recent cook that there’s a quite long crack developing…should I be thinking about invoking my warranty? I have seen some people on here cooking quite happily for ages with bigger, wise fissures.

That crack isn’t hurting anything, but you may as well warranty it. I have a similar crack in my firebox. I warrantied it, but I still haven’t put it in. The basic rule of thumb is that if the part is still able to support the fire grate and everything above it, it’s fine.
Yep, trigger the warranty ASAP, but keep using as usual and don’t mess with it. Goal is to get the replacement in house before the next deep-clean. That way, if the OG meets its maker during removal, you keep cooking with no disruption. 👍
Start the warranty, and continue to use the existing bowl until it is unable to function. This is standard operating procedure.
My firebox is currently in three distinct pieces. Get a new one but use the old until it won’t stay upright.
I told my local Ace Store employee that my, what ever it’s called, had a crack in it and I wanted to buy a new, he told me they are warrantied for life, just bring it in and he would replace it, couple hours later I had a new one
