Don’t even think for one second that this country fried steak recipe is hard to make. It is so easy and it’s a Cracker Barrel country fried steak copycat. And here is how you make it. So, you’re going to start by combining flour with spices such as paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix that together and set it aside. Then, you’re going to mix together buttermilk and eggs. When you have that all done, set that aside. And then you’re going to start putting your cube steaks in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, then back in the flour mixture. When your oil in your pan is nice and hot, add the cube steaks to the pan and fry on each side for about four to five minutes. And then put on a plate that is lined with paper towels to soak up any extra grease. Now, if you don’t plan to make the gravy that goes with this recipe, I would suggest adding a little bit more salt than what the recipe calls for, just to give it a little bit more of a punch of flavor. All right. Now, to make the gravy, I like to use about a/3 of a cup of the drippings and the oil left from cooking the country fried steak. Or you can just use brand new fresh vegetable oil. And then put it in your pan and add about a half a cup of flour. Cook it for a little bit, whisk in, and then add in three cups of milk and salt and pepper and ground nutmeg to taste. Pour that gravy over the country fried steak. And that is it. I hope you enjoyed as much as I
