I've always known my egg is an older one based on the finish (modern eggs look a lot more like Big Green Golf Balls compared to the older ones). I recently replaced the gasket and I'm doing so, uncovered the serial numbers. Does anyone know anything about these? The dome SN seems like it could be pretty low. The SNs are:

Dome: M.C. MEXICO B 002-2
Lower shell: M.C. MEXICO B 223
Inner bowl (fire box): M.C. MEXICO B 681
Fire grate: M.C. MEXICO B 4007
Fire ring: M.C. MEXICO B 182

Try uploading those photos to ChatGPT. It just did and it offered some helpful info but it may take more photos of handle and hinges to pin down a date.

Few drinks, then heat her up slowly. Don’t try and open the bottom opening too quickly

Not that old is my guess…? Or did you install the topcap and thermometer yourself after you bought it? Because they are not the first models.

  5. I believe this one predates serial numbers and the numbers on the rim are the casting number, which corresponds to the manufacturing date. Unfortunately I don’t know how to decode them.

I’d contact the manufacturer opposed to making a Reddit post about this

  7. Treat her gently. Don’t just slam your meat into her grill.

Looks to be about 2015 or older my parents bought the exact model when I was in high-school
