My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Picked this up from Aldi's recently. Ate it with my eggs this morning. Smelled spicy. Was not spicy even in the least bit.

But did it taste good? 🤣
Phogger
The Heinz version is really good. Not all that spicy but it’s good.
thepunisher18166
What did you expect from a very commercial supermarket chain?
TNRcrisis
Burman’s condiments at Aldi are all FUCKING TERRIBLE
orbtastic1
Morrisons’ own brand hab ketchup is surprisingly nice. Their own brand “the best” ketchup from the same range is good too. Nice and thick, not too sweet
bkilian93
If you can find the whataburger spicy ketchup, while not spicy in the slightest, it’s my preferred one so far. Have yet to try the Heinz.
LionOfNaples
If it’s Aldi’s in the UK, did you really expect them to make it with accurate levels of spiciness?
WHITEMERLOT69
This would fuckin ruin my month lol
Cool-Presentation538
I just mix Sriracha and ketchup and that way I control the spice level
ChicoSmokes
You expected more from an Aldi condiment?
CryptographerEasy149
I got taken too. Stuffs not good at all
PoppaFish
I was excited when I saw this in the store. But it tastes like normal ketchup with Tobasco sauce added to it. Heat was meh.

The Heinz Habanero is OK, but still not a mouth burner.

Good to know. Thanks

Siracha ketchup is my goto

I don’t condiments from Aldi anymore except the mustard.

Get masala ketchup. It’s fantastic.

I sympathize with the crushing disappointment of promises not kept, but maybe you can kick it up a notch with e.g. some dried pepper powder and still save the day?
TheWalkingDead91
I have this and the jalapeño version after I saw a bunch at Aldi for like 30 cents a pop a few weeks ago lmao. I grabbed 6 of them total. Couldn’t resist a good clearance deal. Haven’t tried them yet, but having tried “spicy” ketchups in the past, I’m not at all surprised that this wasn’t spicy. Think it might be something about all the sugar they typically make ketchup with that doesn’t allow for any ketchup to be actually spicy.

Ketchhot in Portland has amazing hot ketchup
FunkyMonk54
I got a pretty good ghost pepper ketchup my brother introduced me to recently
I_like_big_book
Growing up we had ketchup and “hot ketchup” at home, for things like eggs, burgers, etc. This seemed like a totally normal thing to my kid brain. I realized much later that our “hot ketchup” was actually HP steak sauce.

Melinda’s Ghost Pepper Ketchup. Thank me later
The__Relentless
But are you literally shaking?
Indigenousboy420
While it has no spice, it’s still very good ketchup I’d say
CaptinEmergency
YES! Almost zero spice, an insult to habaneros everywhere.
Shaackle
Honestly I just stick with the Whataburger Spicy Ketchup. Not the spiciest but I love it.
Alternative-Art6059
I enjoy this. It has a soft kick, good flavor. Ya just have to remember its ketchup, not a hotsauce. It’s not supposed to kick like your favorite black label.
Grandson-Of-Chinggis
I have a lot of moments like that where something says it’s spicy, even though it isn’t, and I’m like, “What a waste”.
ZombifiedRacoon
If you want spicy ketchup 25% – 30% Chalula and 75-70% Ketchup is honestly decent, especially considering those two are available pretty much nationwide. At home, I’ve also finely diceed habanero and jalapeno then mix that in with ketchup, and that’s great! Premade bottles have a convenience factor, but then you are taking a gamble on flavor and spice level each time.

Get you some Melinda’s Ghost Pepper ketchup. You can thank me later.

Waste of fridge space plus also lame.
You can mix up ketchup and any hot sauce you want before a meal.
jsbx1138
Do what I do and add a few drops of some extremely spicy sauce into it!
