A one stop pot meal full of flavor and heart! In this video, Nicole shows you how to make swamp potatoes and sausage, featuring tender gold potatoes, smoked sausage, and fresh green beans slow-cooked to perfection. This hearty dish is great as a side dish or for a family dinner, especially when served with crusty bread to soak up all the juices.
I’m making the viral swamp potatoes. Oh my gosh, that is good. Start by adding potatoes and onion to the slow cooker and toss it with a little oil, salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. And then add on sliced smoked sausage, and green beans. Sprinkle that with onion soup mix and a little garlic powder and top it off with a stick of butter. Cook it on low for several hours or high for a few until everything is softened, saucy, smothered, and delicious. I’ve never smelled a swamp this good. Finish it off with a little fresh parsley, and why not a little kick? Going in for that perfect swamp bite. M. Oh my gosh, that is good. Wow. And it took what? 2 seconds to put together. And just like that, I know what my family’s having for dinner.

Ok, I'm definitely gonna make this a game day feast. To my Game day recipe save.
Awesome tutorial
Where does the liquid come from…the sausage and butter?
Can ya cool this in a pot other then Crock-Pot ?
thanks
Add ranch seasoning (Dry) mix with corn
What brand of sausage did you use, just wondering 😋
No stock needed at all?
I’d swap out Daikon Radish for potato to make this keto friendly!🤩 Your food always looks DELICIOUS! 🤤 THANKS for your video!👍Much appreciated ❤❤❤
I’ve been eating this for years… Hell, it’s basically part of my childhood… My Gram used to make this all the time and then later down the road I found myself craving it… I make this probably once a week… So easy and the crockpot does it all for ya… One of my favorite comforts meals… except I’ve never added Cajun seasonings to it, will try… I’ve never heard it called Swamp Potatoes tho… Gram always called it Beans n taters and would normally pair it with a skillet of cornbread…
👊🏼💯🙏🏻😎💙
It looks good… but my family 4rm the south and this is how they make REGULAR GREEN BEANS …JUST ADD SOME TURKEY NECKS OR WINGS …. I didn't know it's called swamp potatoes lmao😂😂😂
I never knew I was always making swamp potatoes this whole time. I also add hot & sweet peppers & smoked paprika & thyme.
I make this on the stove. I usually will make a pan of cornbread to go with it.
I thought I invented this dish.
❤ this sounds real good. I will make for tomorrow's dinner
What is “several hours”?
Can we know how many? Sheesh
How do you lower the sodium content of this recipe?
Oh, yes!
Well, I got em in the crockpot now. Husband and I had a big discussion on callin them "swamp" potatoes. We discussed the US swamp lands, and I reminded him that DC and half of Virginia were built on swamps, and we ended up agreeing that regardless of the name, they would probably taste like DOWN HOME.
Looks so good
What does the parsley add? just fresh color?
Throw in some corn, and a few crawfish / shrimp at the end, and you almost have crawfish boil!
We would use Bacon and call it bacon, green bean and potato casserole.
Smells great!
❤️
I love using the crock pot esp in the summer. This recipe looks super delish and open to all kinds of interpretations depending what’s in the kitchen! Def gonna try it!
Does anyone know if that slow cooker is good?, I've seen a lot of mix reviews
Thank you Nicole! From south Louisiana
Love the way she says, "Stick of Butta"!
Is there supposed to be some liquid in this?? I just made it, 3,5 hours on high. The potatoes are still hard! How are they supposed to cook with no liquid but butter?
Did u use frozen green beans???
❤️
This was delicious
Yes add baby carrots.
It seems different here too fast
How many potatoes, onions and green beans which sausage did you use please
Making this now.
its good if you add sour cream and bacon bits when you serve it
I have made this recipe two times. They are delicious!
My husband aka “Mr. Self Control” had seconds and ate it again for lunch the next day!
Yum
I just made this for supper in my instant pot on the stew setting for 35 mins. It's PERFECT!!!
So delicious. I’m making it again tomorrow 🤤
I’ve made it twice now! DELICIOUS!!!
I just now did exactly what you said in my Crock-Pot I think you're the same lady though that Cole's noodles straight into dishes before you boil them I do not like to do that leaves too much starch behind looks very good I'm trying it today
I put a South African spin on this and served it with samp and beans, which was just perfect. According to Wikipedia, the word "samp" was originally native American… guess it brings everything full circle. ❤
I am tempted to try this recipe with Italian Sausage but brown my sausage links first.
DANG, gonna make this today!!!! (I do like the suggestion of browning the sausage, will try that too!)
I now know what I'm having for dinner this weekend! 🎉🎉🎉
To where are you “going in”? …[T]o a house, to a garage? I don’t understand.
Scrumptious
I made this tonight and I did not like it.
