A one stop pot meal full of flavor and heart! In this video, Nicole shows you how to make swamp potatoes and sausage, featuring tender gold potatoes, smoked sausage, and fresh green beans slow-cooked to perfection. This hearty dish is great as a side dish or for a family dinner, especially when served with crusty bread to soak up all the juices.

I’m making the viral swamp potatoes. Oh my gosh, that is good. Start by adding potatoes and onion to the slow cooker and toss it with a little oil, salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. And then add on sliced smoked sausage, and green beans. Sprinkle that with onion soup mix and a little garlic powder and top it off with a stick of butter. Cook it on low for several hours or high for a few until everything is softened, saucy, smothered, and delicious. I’ve never smelled a swamp this good. Finish it off with a little fresh parsley, and why not a little kick? Going in for that perfect swamp bite. M. Oh my gosh, that is good. Wow. And it took what? 2 seconds to put together. And just like that, I know what my family’s having for dinner.

  2. I’ve been eating this for years… Hell, it’s basically part of my childhood… My Gram used to make this all the time and then later down the road I found myself craving it… I make this probably once a week… So easy and the crockpot does it all for ya… One of my favorite comforts meals… except I’ve never added Cajun seasonings to it, will try… I’ve never heard it called Swamp Potatoes tho… Gram always called it Beans n taters and would normally pair it with a skillet of cornbread…
    👊🏼💯🙏🏻😎💙

  3. It looks good… but my family 4rm the south and this is how they make REGULAR GREEN BEANS …JUST ADD SOME TURKEY NECKS OR WINGS …. I didn't know it's called swamp potatoes lmao😂😂😂

  4. I never knew I was always making swamp potatoes this whole time. I also add hot & sweet peppers & smoked paprika & thyme.

  5. Well, I got em in the crockpot now. Husband and I had a big discussion on callin them "swamp" potatoes. We discussed the US swamp lands, and I reminded him that DC and half of Virginia were built on swamps, and we ended up agreeing that regardless of the name, they would probably taste like DOWN HOME.

  6. I love using the crock pot esp in the summer. This recipe looks super delish and open to all kinds of interpretations depending what’s in the kitchen! Def gonna try it!

  7. Is there supposed to be some liquid in this?? I just made it, 3,5 hours on high. The potatoes are still hard! How are they supposed to cook with no liquid but butter?

  8. I just now did exactly what you said in my Crock-Pot I think you're the same lady though that Cole's noodles straight into dishes before you boil them I do not like to do that leaves too much starch behind looks very good I'm trying it today

  9. I put a South African spin on this and served it with samp and beans, which was just perfect. According to Wikipedia, the word "samp" was originally native American… guess it brings everything full circle. ❤

  10. DANG, gonna make this today!!!! (I do like the suggestion of browning the sausage, will try that too!)
