So, I work in the RRV, and while at a Pinot noir house (Merry Edwards) I prefer cabs, bord. Blends, Italian varietals, and Sauternes/sauternes/port style wines. (But my winery Pinot is abstract for Pinot, more cab like but more approachable than cabs yet similar age worthiness)
Moshin Vineyards is by far the most underrated I’ve come across. I’ll make a list of must-do wineries soon nearby, but Moshin has so much to offer qualitatively and for a great price. Currently working on their 2019 dry creek cab sauv and it’s not only delicious but $50 retail. Their port style and Sauternes style dessert wines are absolutely stellar. They do a phenomenal chenin blanc, Grenache, and Zin. They have absolutely stellar Pinot noirs too.
I don’t get anything for raving about them, it’s all genuine to express their absolutely solid expression of each varietal while not breaking the bank, with such personable people hosting.
If you go, tell them Max from Merry Edwards sent you (then come see me next) to be able to share the word, but even better share the wine.

Thanks, I will check them out. Heard good things about Bricoleur too recently. I am overdue for a trip over the hill!
Moshin is great. Went there in 2021 and walked out with a lot of wine.
Just saved Moshin on my Google wine folder to check out next time in the area with a note to mention your name. 🙂 Prob be in next couple weeks. I live in San Rafael.
My gf loves the Zins at Bowman Cellars. I see it’s right by Merry Edwards which we surprisingly haven’t been to. Will be sure to email you when we go. Very much appreciate your warm invitation!
