Long time lurker, first time poster. I love Ben and Jerry’s Imprezitively Fudged. The pretzels that are always crunchy, the ribbons of crushed pretzel throughout – it’s the best. I bought a few pints when they were on sale at my local grocery store. Imagine my horror when I went to indulge and I found this! It’s a much darker color than usual and super hard/tough. When it finally melted a little I took a bite, but the texture was totally off and all the pretzels were mushy.
What in the world happened to it? The pints looked fine in the freezer. No freezer burn or otherwise incriminating evidence.

Melted and refroze in transport, handling issues. It happens.
Looks like it melted and refroze.
Did you pick up the ice cream before or after your other groceries? Was there a long line? Did it take you a while to get home and unload? (I have an ice cooler in the trunk for this.)
it got really cold hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Like others have said; defrosted and frozen again
Or maybe you put it hot in the freezer. I always let it cool completely before I put the lid on.
Store employees stocking probably failed you or someone walked it around the store it melted and they put it back on the shelves.
Either way always grab a pint from the back of the row
It kinda looks freezer burnt
Send it to Steve1989.
If there’s a big sale, often, the opening and closing of the freezer door causes the ice cream to melt. I find that this happens with the whole Foods ice cream sale in July
Do not eat that ice cream otherwise I can promise a surprise
Wow this exact this happened to me with this exact pint of ice cream. I tried it last night and promptly put it away. Also i think we eat our ice cream the same way. I always chip away around the edges with tiny little scoops like that.
