WASHINGTON (7News) — Roxanne Strouk of Good Morning Washington stopped by Iron Gate Restaurant for a hands-on culinary experience with Chef de Cuisine James Robinson, where they crafted fresh focaccia and toasted with a glass of Best Day Brewing.
Iron Gate has been a beloved fixture in the community for over a century. Since taking the helm in 2013, Chef James and his team have been delighting guests with Mediterranean-inspired dishes served family-style.
During her visit, Roxanne joined James in preparing a batch of Iron Gate’s signature focaccia, made fresh daily and topped with garlic and summer squash. They also celebrated with Best Day Brewing’s crisp Kölsch, which James cleverly incorporated into the vinaigrette for the restaurant’s tomato and watermelon salad. The bright, refreshing notes of the Kölsch perfectly balance the natural sweetness of the farm-fresh produce, tying all the flavors together into a truly mouthwatering bite.
