Some folks were recommending Denny’s burgers on the sub a bit ago. Decided to pick one up. No kids. High af. Movie night (Bride of Chucky is a must if you watch movies high). Made the “mistake” of adding an extra patty. Didn’t think I’d be able to take it down, but i took my time and accomplished the task.

I was pleasantly surprised by the hashbrowns, the bottom bun fell apart…but everything went together so well. Good shit, especially high

Fries were good too!

And the Denny’s, (which has a Papa Johns operating out the back!) has an old school feel. Old school waitress running the show, the cook could’ve had a cigarette dangling from his mouth. The customers were older.

I am going back! Not sure what I’ll get next time

  1. The Denny’s location near me is unfortunately low quality for everything I’ve ever tried there, but that said, I think I’ll have to try one of these

Dennys a decent burger? I may break down and give them a shot and see if they have improved after years of mediocrity at best as there is one within walking distance. Last I knew they were running a ghost kitchen out of it though and never many cars there.

DENNY’S? FFS go find a locally-owned greasy spoon and live life. I bet you think the best produce comes from Walgreens.

I once OD’d and had to wait for a ride when I left the hospital. It was like 3AM and there was a Denny’s right across the street, so I decided to get this burger and some fries while I waited for a friend to return with my car.

No exaggeration, the shittiness of that plate had a more negative effect on my emotions than the OD did. They’d clearly made everything a couple hours before and left it out beneath a rumor of a heat lamp, all of the ingredients seemed like they were nearing the end of their life even before then, and the fries left a texture in my mouth I can only liken to being a kid and staying up all night eating sugar only to not brush your teeth the next morning.

Not shitting on your burger, OP. Glad you enjoyed it, I just think it’s funny that our experiences were so wildly different.

Coolest thing about the slam burger is I can get it every time I end up at dennys – no matter the day, time, or weather, a slam burger is appropriate

I’ve never had a bad burger at Denny’s.

  7. Def depends on the Dennys but I’ve had some absolute bangers at my local Dennys. Like top 5 burgers at 2am

Those are soooooo good! I haven’t had one in years. But damn, they turn into a brick in your stomach! Haha! Thats the only meal I’d eat in a day.

The Lenny’s in my town is shitfromabutt big time. Never again.

  10. Very hard to beat Chili’s. $11 for an entire meal with appetizer. And very beefy & tasty

    Dennys….”Americas diner”? No chance

  12. Dennys used to be my favorite restaurant. My mom used to work at one and she introduced my to the Moon over My Hammy sandwich and I thought it was the best sandwich ever. I haven’t had a burger from Dennys in years but it was always fun to go really late at night or early in the morning. If the sun is out, its not time for Dennys. I think the last burger i had from them was so bland and dry. But if things have changed maybe I’d try them again. I’ll go for what you ordered.

The amazing part is it made it home still looking like that

When I found out Burger Den was Dennys after ordering a few times I was surprised because I never liked Denny’s. The Wake and Bake burger is top tier.

That burger, from your house? No way at all Denny’s made it.

It’s all fun and games til that thing slams in to your asshole on the way out.

Lmao “if you watch movies high”

The Denny’s near me sent out raw pancakes three times in a row that I kept sending back before they got it right. That’s the one and only time I went there.

The Denny’s I worked at when I lived in a different city served amazing food and the cooks were passionate and talented. Crazy the inconsistency.

Makes me crave a Pepperjack Turducken Slammer from Biggerson’s.

Some Denny’s are independently owned, so the quality can vary. The one in my town has amazing coffee, horrible bacon and standard issue breakfast. I’m gonna have to try a burger there.

  21. pipehonker

They need to crisp up those soggy looking hashbrowns

  22. krashtestgenius

My go to for 20 years, just wished there was a dennys in Chicago
