I love apple-flavored things and was very excited when I saw this added to the collection. From the description, it sounded like it would taste like their delightful Pineapple Upside-down Cake except with apples. It does not; this is disgusting.

Base–it's supposed to be apple ice cream but I couldn't get much of it by itself. There were too many mix-ins with too strong flavoring. There were random hints of apple that popped up occasionally mid-chew and when they did, they were good. The only good part, really. So the base might be amazing but I can't tell.

Mix-ins–the apple chunks tasted exactly like biting into a fresh, crisp apple so that bit of it was delicious. Wish it had more. Unfortunately, the oatmeal crumbs stole the show when they should have stayed back humming in the chorus. I was anticipating a taste similar to the oats in Brambleberry Crisp, but this has a funkier cinnamon taste that was exactly like biting into the smell of a Yankee Candle store. It just tastes like artificial generic fall flavoring with little discernible beyond that. It didn't taste like food,; it tasted like if Bath and Body Works released a fall soap called 'The Potpourri Basic Bitches Put In Their Drawers'. It ruined anything that was good in it.

Caramel–caramel is unfortunately hit-or-miss in ice cream, even "premium" brands. This was a miss; it has that funky coffee-ish burnt taste to it. If you were hoping it'd be like one of those $.25 green caramel apple pops, it's not. Adding your own good caramel might improve it; I'm going to try this later but I think it's going to be largely unsalvageable.

If you want a good fall ice cream flavor, stay away from this one. The only thing redeemable about it are the few bites of apple that managed to stay unsullied by the nasty spice blend. Do not recommend this one.

I agree with this! I think the crumble just ruined it which is surprising because I LOVE the brambleberry. It just tasted so artificial and chemical-ly to me!

  3. Oh that sounds so tasty. Not your description, just the name of the flavor.

Oh man. I know saying something tastes like a candle should be bad but that sounds amazing to me 😅.

Thank you very much for this review. It confirms that I am going to pass on this flavor. I am just finally getting to the Jeni’s Summer flavors that I ordered for delivery and I am so disappointed with the Toasted S’mores. It doesn’t taste a darn thing like s’mores. I sure hope the other ones are better.
