Back in July, the popular Northfield restaurant, The Spot, announced it would be closing for good after 14 years at the end of the summer.

The Spot’s Original Closure Announcement

The restaurant’s owners, Jonathan Sands and Erin McGee, said in a social media post that this was going to be their last season.  They explained that while it was bittersweet to say goodbye, they were looking forward to the next chapter, announcing they would close on August 23rd.

In an edited post, they decided to finish out the summer, announcing they would remain open until August 29th.

The Big Reveal: The Spot Is Relocating

On Monday, the restaurant made an announcement in a social media post that they would not only be staying open, but also relocating to a new spot.

BIG NEWS! We are relocating but staying local! It’s been a crazy couple of weeks over here. A lot has happened but we have decided to keep The Spot alive!

I, for one, am thrilled to hear The Spot is staying open. I have had lunch here plenty of times over the years and really like their unique menu. They always had great soups (my favorite is the Mushroom Barley), wraps, and sandwiches (Charred Pineapple BLT) options.  I used to order a sandwich called The Toshy and the suped up geezer quesadilla for lunch when they were on the menu.

No New Address Yet for the Beloved Local Eatery

The Spot is currently located at 331 Tilton Road, in the Tilton Shopping Center in Northfield, but no information is available at this time on the new location.

Fans will have to wait for the next announcement, but one thing is certain: The Spot isn’t going away just yet!
