My 20th birthday is coming up and my favorite food is pasta so I got so excited when I found these candles but I have no idea how to decorate the cake. I’m probably just going to do a two layer small round cake. I wasn’t sure if I should keep it plain away or if I should do something fun with it Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Those look super cool! Since you don’t have a ton of decorating experience, I’d go with something fairly simple. My first thought is to get a bar of white chocolate and microplane it so it looks like grated Parmesan cheese and mound that on top of the cake. You can also use some dried pasta to decorate, but it would need to be removed before you ate the cake. Happy Birthday!

You can deep fry cooked pasta – maybe toss it in cinnamon sugar for a crispy doughnut/churro vibe if you pick cute shapes like farfalle or wagon wheels? This might also be a fun party snack, sweet or savoury.

There are also piping tips to make frosting come out like noodles, so you could cover the top of your cake with yellow frosting “spaghetti” maybe. Toasted coconut “parmesan” and red icing or jam for sauce? Chocolate rum ball “meatballs”? And a big fork, lol.

Those candles are super cute! I hope you find a fun way to make use of them.

If you like ice cream, you can make a lasagna Ice cream cake and you can make chocolate lasagna or chocolate ravioli and then fill the inside with ice cream.

I would want the candles to really stand out, so I would personally make a rectangular cake with a red and white checkerboard fondant cover (make it so it looks like it’s tablecloth), then a white round fondant plate on top. Or if you go with a round cake, then maybe a white cake underneath, plus the red and white fondant “fabric” layer, then the top layer cake as a white bowl.

I would keep it really simple and let the candles be the decoration. Maybe a pasta pun piped onto the cake if you’re into that sort of thing? “Spaghetting older” maybe? The pasta-bilities are endless.

Love this, hope you have a great birthday!

  6. If you make a round cake, you could frost the sides one color, and frost the top a tomato sauce color. Put white to off white frosting in a bag and just nip the tip off so you have a tiny hole for the frosting to come out. Make spaghetti that way. You could add chocolate cake pops as meatballs. As someone else mentioned, grate some white chocolate to mimic Parmesan cheese.

Make a cake. I’ve it grey on the sides and blue on the top. Now it’s a pot to boil noodles in!

Lasagna cake. But like actual lasagna.

F the cake. Make a big dish of ziti or stuffed shells and stick them in that!

I think it would be fun to do a sheet pan cake with strawberry jam on top and then white frosting (or whipped frosting) laid over that with the jam showing around the edges so it looks like a lasagna. You could shave some white chocolate as “parmesan” garnish as well. It should be easy enough.

I need to know where you found the candles! So cute!

Hear me out, hot ~~take~~cake: you love pasta, right? I think the best move is making pasta that *looks* like a typical cake. As in, make a baked pasta, e.g., lasagna, spaghetti pie, baked ziti, chill it in a pan, cover with a cheese sauce then reheat in a spring form pan wrapped in parchment and decorate with classic pasta toppings that look like typical cake decor (parmesan shavings instead of chocolate, vodka or bechamel sauce drizzle, Italian breadcrumbs all along the sides)

I may not have convinced you, but now I’m super eager to try making this pasta-cake!

Do a round cake and ice it red. Use yellow icing in a ziploc bag, cut off the corner and when you squeeze, itll just come out stringy, like noodles. Make a big pile of this like spaghetti noodles. Add some ferrero rochers on there like meatballs and add your candles. It will be an easy to make pasta cake.

Silver/gray around the sides with little handles made of fondant or something, then blueish white on top with piped bubbles so these look like pasta floating in a pot of boiling water!

The Germans have this thing called spaghetti ice cream where they push vanilla ice cream through a potato ricer to make ‘noodles’ and top it with a red berry jam. You can also add ferrero rocher meatballs!

How about ferrero rocher meatballs like someone else said, and using fondant to make little tomatoes or mozarella balls? You could even shve white chocolate to look like mozarella, add some berry coulis as sauce, and some mint or basil leaves as herbs.

I think the decorations themselves would be pretty easy as they are mostly just round shapes lol, if you are not a great baker just getting a white frosted cake and adding them would probably look great
