Best way to bring refrigerated supermarket sushi to proper temp?
Some options I could think of: Just leave it sitting out, toaster oven on warm or barely microwave rice only?

Separate the fish from the rice. Place rice onto microwave safe plate. Cover plate with wet paper towel. Microwave in 15 second increments checking to see when rice is done.

Honestly if it’s super market sushi I’m just eating it kinda cold. Seems risky to leave it out and I doubt the microwaved rice will taste great.

Sushi rice doesn’t refrigerate well.

Yall are weird. Let it set out 15 minutes, and it’ll be close enough that someone buying supermarket sushi won’t notice.
Not trying to be an ass, but you honestly can’t replicate a sushi restaurant’s quality with supermarket sushi. If you’re in such a pinch that you’re buying supermarket sushi, and can’t afford a sushi restaurant’s quality, perhaps reassess your expectations.

Lmao you did not just ask if you could warm up sushi in a toaster or microwave

Just leave it out

Yall are idiots. The only sane option is to take off your pants and underwear, put on an extra large pajama shirt and squat over the plate circus tent style. Then using your natural heat to gently warm the fish to body temperature mama hen style. Its the only reasonable way to reheat sushi, as God intended.

Eat it cold wtf why are yall getting warm sushi?

Why would you cook it and not eat it cold lol? Idk what these people are talking about…I would never put raw sushi in an oven or microwave, or expect the rice to even be warm. If this was imitation meat/deep fried fish with tempura I could maybe entertain the idea, but we buy sushi raw for a reason. If it’s raw eat it ASAP and keep it cold when you aren’t eating it, I’ve never warmed up sushi even deep fried and always had a satisfying experience. I also don’t expect my rice or raw fish to be room temperature especially as leftovers? Seems like a minute detail to harp on…

Please don’t heat your sushi. Leave it out, covered, on the counter for 10-15 minutes. If you’re feeling insane, you *could* peel and refrigerate the sashimi and re-steam the rice briefly on the stove.

Usually by the time it gets home it’s the right temp.

You put it in the grocery cart , do the rest of your shopping, check out, go out to your car, drive home, start putting away the groceries, get distracted, come back to finish putting away the groceries, find the now room temperature sushi, say oh yeah I bought sushi! and scarf it all down like a goblin.

Am I the only one that prefers my sushi cold??

Science oven.

This post has been exactly the topic on my mind for the last few months. I find leaving it out for about 20 minutes, but I feel like this is going to vary, depending on your refrigerator temperature and the ambient temperature.

Toss rice, have sashimi.

1. Just set your bar lower. 2. Eat. 3. Enjoy/regret.
