An absolutely sublime century-old Art Nouveau brasserie Belle époque brasserie @gallopin

Inaugurated in 1876, this incredible Belle Époque brasserie, located opposite the Palais Brongniart, is one of the oldest in Paris. Gustave Gallopin imagined a chic and elegant establishment, where all the financiers ended up having their habits. You go there to unwind after a hard day’s work, and enjoy sublimated traditional French cuisine. Le Gallopin soon became a festive and transgressive address! In fact, it was one of the very first cocktail bars in the capital.

Inside, you’ll discover a plush decor, with Victorian mahogany woodwork, large mirrors and hand-painted motifs. The lighting is always subdued, creating a very muted ambience. But the highlight of the show is the magnificent salon. Opened in 1900 for the World’s Fair, it boasts huge, impressive, listed glass windows in the purest Art Nouveau style. On sunny days, these can even be opened onto the courtyard to take advantage of the fine weather. It’s a perfectly preserved setting that still has the whole of Paris talking.
