We might only be half way through September, but there is no denying the fact that Christmas is getting closer and closer now. And if you fancy trying an event that might feel more like summer, a Greek Christmas Market is set to take place in Newcastle later this year, with the promise of loads of food and hand crafted gifts.
Now we like to enjoy summer as much as the next person, but even as soon as the start of July, ChronicleLive was starting to be inundated with messages and emails about festive events being lined up for Christmas 2025. As a result, in the last few months we have already written a wealth of Christmas content, ranging from the opening of a Christmas shop in Gateshead in August to the return of a retro pop-up bar to Newcastle city centre and Eatflix’s Elf screenings, that caused a ticket meltdown after 19,000 tried to get some,
Another big bit of news in recent weeks as been the announcement of Newcastle Christmas Market dates for 2025 and the reveal that the annual event will also extend into a new location for its return in November. And now we can bring you news of another Christmas Market taking place on Tyneside this year – a Greek Christmas Market, which will take up residence inside St John the Baptist Church Hall on Grainger Street, in the heart of town, on December 7 from 11am-4pm.
Shoppers are being invited to ‘take a piece of Greece’ home from the event which promises an array of delicious food, as well as handmade gifts, crafts, authentic Greek deli products like olives and honey, home decor, personalised items and traditional Greek New Year good luck charms to explore. Entry to the Greek Christmas Market is just £1 for adults, with children getting in free.
