Using fish skulls to prop up my food is a new one for me
Ngl I actually enjoyed this, but still thought it fit the subreddit. At Mayta in Lima.

Is it r/wewantplates if the food is technically on a plate?

Are those Arapaima skulls?
DiceMadeOfCheese
This looks like a makeshift idol to Cthulhu

….what was the food?

It’s kinda metal, but where’s the food?

They reuse those skulls and string don’t they.

As someone who is deeply phobic of fish, if I was served this I’d immediately start crying and then would probably projectile vomit.

This as art is beautiful. This as a prop for serving food disgusts me 😭😭

STOP IT! No one thinks it’s clever, artful, or funky. It’s annoying and stupid. I can honestly say that if that was offered, I would ask for a plate. If I knew that is how they presented their food, I wouldn’t book.
I love to hate this forum.

This is one of the few occasions where I might consider sending it back.
That’s mostly horrific.

Are they using the entire fish? And by that I mean: is another guest at this restaurant having their meal served on three dessicated fish asses?

I follow some occult subs and I genuinely thought this was a voodoo offering

Fuck it, I wouldn’t touch it with a stick.
Absolutely disgusting.

So how do they clean it?

I cannot pick out what any of the edible items are in this photo. It’s like looking at the background of an AI generated image, where shapes look familiar but are just random blobs of misinformation.
I understand the edible part is the thing nestled between the chins of the fish skulls (what a sentence), but what is it? I can’t identify a single ingredient. And that dip in some kind of..shell? A shell of what I’m not sure, it could be a sea creature or a nut shell. And it looks like it’s already been dipped into?
I’m confused and I am angry.

This is dope but it needs more food.

This is the kind of thing that a chef would bring my food out on after hearing I ordered a vegan entree. (Yeah chef’s are petty AF sometimes!)

I wonder what kind of fish it was to have such a sturdy skull?
