Yes I just did one. Smoked it for an hour an 15 and then reverse seared on a cast iron. Came out great
SuckingDuckForQuack
why not? but seriously i do frequently, poor mans burnt ends or just smoke it like a brisket.
Iansdevil
I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure that’s only for crock pots. I don’t think anyone in this sub has even posted about Chuck meat before. Did you try searching the sub? This sounds like some kind of exotic beef cut.

You can smoke anything you can fit in a smoker

Yes. It’s amazing
bilbo_the_innkeeper
Absolutely. It’s often referred to as “poor man’s brisket.”

Smoked one a few days ago. Taste was great but still wasn’t as tender as I had hoped. It was also only the 2nd time I did it, so I’ve got some learning I still need to do.
Done it many times. More flexibility in weight selection than brisket. Plenty of fat. Less smoking time. It’s delicious.

I’ve smoked 2 in the last 5 weeks. 275 til 165-170 internal, then I wrap in a foil pan with beef broth til 205-210. I shred mine like pulled beef.

You can smoke anything with nipples
Goalcaufield9
Poor mans brisket. I do it all the time. It’s great

Yes but you should get one more marbled than that. That is a pot roast right there

Does the pope shit in his hat?

Yes, but I’d recommend cooking it sous vide at 135° F for 48 hours. It’ll be tender like filet mignon. I’m actually halfway through that cook right now.
sideshow999
Smoke it then braise it in chunks in a chili.
yosefvinyl
I don’t know. CAN you?
MUmyrmidon032
Yea, you just need a pipe that will fit it
JRawl79
Nope. Chuck roast is impervious to smoke.
Altruistic_Low_416
Hell yeah you can. I smoked one two weeks ago and then chopped it up into Mac and cheese

Squatch-hunted

If your not afraid of becoming addicted to smoking then sure , savory smoked chuck roast or poor man’s burnt ends are great
You can smoke anything as long as you can figure out how to light it.
Yes that’s a bad dad joke and I will see myself out now.
Northman_76
Poor man’s Brisket. It takes smoke very well, shred, and add to a pot of chili.

After smoking my first chuck I haven’t prepped it any other way. It is transformative, to me no other meat improves as much as a chuck roast does from smoking.
And if you have time and like trying new things you can try a pastrami brine for a week or so before smoking. I haven’t made brisket pastrami but absolutely destroy a chuck pastrami.

If you roll the papers tight enough, sure.

It’s my favorite thing to smoke. The price tag is low compared to a brisket, takes less time, tastes absolutely delicious, and is an appropriate amount of meat for a small family. It’s awesome.
