A friend of mine told me that I should post about this, but this is meat cornbread. Yes, you read that right. It's got about a half pound of venison, barbecue sauce, and a small amount of molasses blended and added to box cornbread mix. Nobody seems to believe me when I say it's actually really good but I promise it is xD

If I’m not mistaken a Native American tribe has something similar to this as a staple food. Can’t remember the name of it though. Seems like a very easy way to bulk on calories

It’s basically pemmican. Good stuff. I haven’t had it since my grandma made it.

I don’t hate this. It sounds yummy.

Venison is the best meat. That doesn’t sound bad.

We made what we called mexican cornbread when I was a kid. It was cornbread with diced jalepeno peppers, hot sausage, pepperjack cheese chunks, and diced onions in it. It was delicious. Oh and I forgot..corn as well.

I trust you because I have those same spice jars and I trust anyone who is that organized with their spices.

…should’ve just made pemmican. Meat cornbread is sort of just lazy, when the ingredients could have been prepped and cooked individually, and then plated together. If you wanted to make meatloaf, fine. If you want to make venison loaf, it would be more fun to make pemmican.

    Sounds like almost healthy scrapple.

Sounds like it’d be good. Looks like something you’d pull out of a rations tin.

What kind of frosting did you put on this cake?

If you layered it instead of mixing you’d essentially have the Dominican dish Pastelón de Maiz.

I have that plate design too!! #twins

Its appearance is awful and its list of ingredients isn’t encouraging, but… who knows?

Without trying it, it’s impossible to say if it tastes good.

It looks to me like a sand cake some kids did in the sand box and presented it to me as yummy I should take a bite. “Noooo, a real bite, not a fake bite…”

  17. I mean there are people who eat shit too and I’m sure they’ll swear it tastes good so…

  18. If you can get your hands on a time machine and take that back to 17th century Pennsylvania, you can be the inventor of scrapple.

I kind of make the same thing with eggs

My mom used to make this with Bisquick and ground beef. One of my favorite meals when I was a kid

  21. If it’s deep fried after, it’s similar to a katlama

Honestly I’d eat that. Creative use of venison. I bet it was delicious

It looked like a big snickerdoodle to me, I was so sad to find out it is just shitty meatloaf

At first I thought this was posted in r/stonerfood lol

  25. … you made a fuckin’ meatloaf. Congratulations on discovering a meal that’s existed for as long as ground beef

  26. Looks a bit like a Paraguayan dish, though that one is layered. It’s called Sopa So’o
