Which of these are you choosing if you’re not paying?
I’m being taken out to dinner tonight by my company and want to take advantage and try something I’d likely ever buy myself.
I’ve never tried either kind and don’t want to mess up my order lol.

Gah_Duma
Answering purely based on the steak, I would choose 3oz of A5 and 3oz of Kobe. But based off of the situation, I would order something around the same price as the other people.
Serious-Wish4868
unless I am in japan, i am not ordering any of those
tangential_quip
3 oz Japanese A5 and also ordering another steak.
EuphoricCandidate747
I’ll take one of each, please, hold the sides. I might get the meat sweats.
JiminyBillyBobsyDo
I’ll have both 6oz steaks.

Kobe is a specific kind of Japanese A5, regarded by many as the most premium beef in the world. Theres no reason to take regular A5 over Kobe for any reason other than cost. I will say though that the fact they’re not specifying the cut. Like are we getting kobe ribeye or nys, or is this a kobe eye round? Makes a big difference.
Warm_Strawberry_4575
I wouldnt make a decision until I knew what cuts they are.
Fantasy_Puck
12 oz of Kobe ? If it’s company scratch, I might bring a bit home for my dog.
Obvious_Peace_9467
I’d choose every single damn steak.
IllustriousKick1951
6oz A5 medium rare please.
Tito_orztitz
3oz, quality A5 or Kobe is way too fatty to be having half a pound of
Limited_Surplus_4519
Which of these if I’m not paying…?
All four.
hicklc01
I wouldn’t want to waste the 6oz on me but 3 oz. Kobe because I would at least want to experience that style of beef at its best.
Agreeable_Error_8772
This is at a price point that I’m going to be asking the waiter questions about the cuts and preparation before I make a decision

If i like the payor, the cheap one. If not, one of each, please
flyingcircusdog
If I had to pick one, 6 oz Japanese A5.
Logical_Calendar_526
Whatever the host orders.

I’m a poor, so I only know that each of these exist, but not the difference. Can someone explain? (*I know I can Google it, I specifically want to hear the opinions/descriptions of the steak enthusiasts in this sub*).

Am I the only one who thinks all of the prices of these pieces of meat is completely insane? I’m not talking about the products quality, I’m talking about the price per ounce of meat that is so far out from anything I could possibly afford as to be ridiculous.
neverbeendead
Where’s the 16oz ribeye? And what about the 24oz porterhouse? This restaurant is BS. It doesn’t even tell you what cut of steak it is?
Sleep_adict
Don’t order it welll done
galapaghost89
Coming from someone who has been in a situation like this, let others order first. You dont want to come off as the person ordering the most expensive thing on the menu. At the very least, dont order first, try and order after the managers.
renz004
6oz jap A5. Absolutely this
Chigibu
The answer is yes to all, order twice.
Kayd0n
