  1. 2000 MB has peaked. In any case Trump doesn’t drink.

  2. Anything is too much to “honor” that guy.

I’m embarrassed that he gets to represent my country.

  3. It’s more interesting how it’s all written in French. I get Ridge as a New World wine a little bit since the visitors are from the US but I would just stick with old world where possible if I was trying to represent the UK/Europe to the Americans.

I just hope they put a lil something extra in his.

Pol Roger is a classic and fave of Churchill so not surprised to see it.

  6. Geez if these are the wines royalty are dinking, I probably spend way too much on mine.

Surprised it wasn’t all Diet Coke. Not sure how those would pair with his Big Macs

not a fan of ridge vineyards, though i know i’m in the minority. Pol Roger makes an incredible bubbly, haven’t had this label, but i’m sure it delivers.

Terrible menu. Absolutely disgusting choices, folks. Food was a disaster. And don’t even get me started on the wine. Its no COKE !! Not what America deserves! #FakeWine #MenuFail

  10. Pretty confident the Ridge ended up there to please your fat Dictator.

As it really is a faux pas for royalty / nobility to serve an American wine (or any New World wine actually) at a dinner like this.

  11. so how do these state dinner affairs go? I think i read there’s supposed to be 150 guests in attendance. Do they all get served the same wine flight? Or is this just for the head table? And do any of you somms know how many bottles of Corton-Charlemagne you would need to open for 150 guests?

Tonight I just went to dinner at a place where my friend is the wine director and he had a party having a wine dinner and brought me a taste of 1976 Ridge MB. Of course it was past its prime but right when I took a sip ‘little by little’ by Radiohead came on and I felt a surreal feeling of levity. So basically I am like a raccoon eating out of the trash of windsor and I couldn’t be more proud

Do they not realize that this guy eats well done steaks with ketchup?

All attempts at culinary exceptionalism and thoughtfully curated pairings are entirely lost on this classless buffoon.

Trump doesn’t drink alcohol, so I doubt he was impressed by the wine list.

Y’all are sleeping on wiston. It’s to die for

  16. English Sparkling, Classic white Burgundy, Nod to the Yanks, Winston’s old favourite. A classic diplomatic list.

  17. I look at the Pol Roget and wonder what Churchill would have to say about 2025.

Pearls before swine! Very nice wine. I would be happy with it. But Trump doesn’t drink alcohol, doesn’t know anything about wine or food, and has the palate of brick.

Ridge Monte Bello is awesome. Been far too long since I’ve had it.
