The facts speak for themselves: the lowest number of cardiovascular diseases in the world is recorded in Japan (which is attributed to a diet based on fish and seafood); in Europe it is France, which is attributed to the daily consumption of red wine. And it was called the “French Paradox”.

They were the first to realize this here in Plantaže “13. July”, when they released vranac pro corde on the market, commercially called “wine from the heart and for the heart”.

Professor Dr. Goran Radjen, a cardiologist who has been dealing with the influence of wine on heart diseases for years, spoke about it in detail.

Podgorica Plantaže was the only winery in the world that rounded off the scientific research carried out during the 20th century with a concrete wine, so in 1993 a wine with an unusual name appeared on the market – “Pro Corde”. For the heart.

Cardiologist prof. Dr. Goran Rađen, at the lecture entitled “Wine for the heart – Pro Corde”, which was organized on the occasion of the Belgrade Wine Salon at the Hyatt Hotel, pointed out the research of prof. Dr. Klaus Jung, who concluded that regular moderate consumption of wine, among other effects, reduces the risk of heart attack, improves the flexibility of the vascular system and prolongs life.

While warning about the numerous harmful effects of excessive alcohol consumption, as well as classic drugs, Dr. Rađen nevertheless points out an important difference between the consumption of wine and other types of alcohol:

“It is known that excessive drinking of alcohol, among others, has a harmful effect on blood pressure. However, the research that included 5000 French people, who with 63 liters per year are the world record holders for wine consumption, and 1400 Irish people, who mainly consume whiskey and beer, led to interesting results. Namely, the French drink wine throughout the week, with a slight increase during the weekend, while the Irish consume 2/3 of alcohol during the weekend. It was found that Irish people have the highest blood pressure on Mondays, and it drops slightly until Thursday, while French people have the same blood pressure throughout the week and are at the same level as abstainers.”

Make no mistake: the recommendation is only two to three glasses a day.
