A weekend full of food and family fun kicks off Thursday in the Lowcountry.The 31st annual Yemassee Shrimp Festival is set for September 18-21 in Hampton County. The weekend will features a carnival, vendors, live music, fireworks, food and a parade.The opening ceremonies start Thursday night at 6:30 pm with a kiddie parade, lighted parade, fireworks, and of course lots of food, crafts, and the Big Round Wheel Amusements carnival.The carnival resumes Friday at 4 pm. There will also be bingo in the Fire Barn starting at 6 pm and East Coast Party Band will perform at 8 pm on the main entertainment stage.A parade will highlight Saturday’s festivities.
