Smoked some Nathan’s hotdogs at 225 for 55 minutes. Then hit with a sear on high on the grill. Served with duck fat fried crinkle fries tossed in Cajun seasoning. Don’t judge me for the comically large hotdog buns (they’re brioche rolls)

I am a fan, these are next level hot dogs especially if you can add a nice dry rub or seasoning
Nice. I threw some on the Weber this past weekend. It’s been way too long since I’ve had some simple charcoal grilled hotdogs.

What dogs are those?
Two weeks ago I hosted a party for 75 people a bunch of who are under the age of 15. I smoked 24 hotdogs that were ready when the party started. We cut the BBQ an hour later. The result was lots of little kids ate hotdog and didn’t eat brisket or ribs.
This is gonna be standard operating procedure from here on out.
Outside Costco dogs I buy in my quarterly trip, I had stopped buying them. Then I needed to for kids at some party. Freaking $8/package for maple leaf and Schneider. Last time I had bought them they were $2….
Pork tenderloin is super affordable and delicious
Is slicing them like that to add surface area, or are there other benefits? So you find they dry out with the casing compromised?
Either way, these look fantastic (and here I am lazying out and boiling most times I make’m for the kids).

I feel you man! I’ve found myself smoking mainly chicken thighs over the past few months with the occasional rib. Want to do a chuck roast but the prices have been crazy locally

We started getting the Sam’s Club Members Mark hot dogs and they are very good.
Now that many of my friends/family have young kids we find hotdogs are just so convenient as it keeps one arm free to deal with a kid
