WILLIAMS TWP., Pa. – A longstanding Lehigh Valley dining establishment, known for its homemade pizza, pasta dishes and other Italian specialties, will soon welcome back guests after undergoing improvements.

The restaurant has been temporarily closed since Aug. 13 as it undergoes “essential upgrades and maintenance to enhance your dining experience,” according to an earlier post on the business’ Facebook page and front door.

It’s unclear exactly what kind of upgrades have been implemented. A Terry’s representative did not immediately return a message seeking more information.

“Our commitment to providing exceptional service and quality remains our top priority, and these improvements will allow us to serve you even better in the near future,” the Aug. 12 post reads.

Terry’s was established by Bob and Theresa (Terry) Mugione in 1951, according to a message on the restaurant’s website.

“Bob would host while Terry would attended to the menu and all the cooking, from her traditional family recipes and homemade pastas, to our regionally famous pizza, known distinctly for its crispy crust,” the message continues.

The restaurant has had two additional sets of owners over the decades.

In 1981, Martine and Athanassios Lykos purchased Terry’s, owning and operating the restaurant for the next 29 years.

Since 2010, mother and son Nancy and TC Winters have been continuing the Terry’s traditions of homemade Italian cuisine and a warm, friendly, family-oriented atmosphere.

“We continue to run the restaurant as a family,” the online message continues. “Dining with us is like visiting friends and family for a meal in our vintage 60’s style Italian dining room.”

Terry’s is known for its fresh, homemade Italian specialties, including appetizers such as bruschetta, fried calamari and mussels served in white wine lemon or marinara sauce; pasta dishes such as penne vodka prosciutto, cheese ravioli and capellini and meatballs; and casseroles such as eggplant parmigiana, baked ziti and baked sausage and chicken.
