Was at Nob Hill looking at McConnell's, saw the $10.50 price tag, said "Nope," and picked up these guys instead at half that price.
Afters Cookie Butter: 10/10. This is maybe my new favorite ice cream. Intense, buttery, cookie-butter flavor, with soft, doughy mixins that have a bit of salt. This is like the Haagen-Dazs Salted Brown Butter Cookie flavor, leveled up into perfection.
Afters Salty O's: 6/10. Very salty. Cookies and cream. I love salt, but it really overwhelms the other flavors here, rather than balancing them out.
Bonus: I'm looking for a new vanilla ice cream after Dreyers changed their French Vanilla formula to no longer be ice cream, and picked up Sunnyside Triple Vanilla. I expected triple the vanilla flavor, but actually it's 3 different vanilla ice creams in one pack:
Sunnyside Regular Vanilla: 3/10. Thin and flavorless.
Sunnyside Vanilla Bean: 4/10. Stronger vanilla flavor, but clearly artificial. Has the bitter background of synthetic vanillin.
Sunnyside French Vanilla: 5/10. A little thicker and richer than the others, but still not very strong in vanilla or egginess.
Compare to my old favorite vanilla:
- Dreyers French Vanilla (Old formula): 8/10. Rich, eggy, thick, almost chewy, but soft.

Didn’t know After’s sold pints now. I’ve only had their Cookie Monster ice cream bars, which are pretty damn good!
I hope I can find these in my area— especially the cookie butter one!
Smaller companies usually make these more unique flavors.
I must find this Afters Cookie Butter!! I haven’t seen this brand, I will need to look them up and see if it is sold by me.
