First time tasting a Pinot Meunier. Surprisingly complex. Light tannins, muted red fruits. fresh acidity. Subtle flavor of smoked meats. Short finish. Very enjoyable. Would recommend.

I’ve only ever had the Chandon P.M.. Can you give us some notes on it? I’m guessing it’s going to show less acid than Chandon if it’s coming from Finger Lakes. But I don’t recall it having a ton of acid from Carneros either tbh.

Risky glass positioning there.

Six Eighty isn’t exactly who I would look to for a true tasting of Pinot Meunier. While most of their wines are done in Quervi, or similar earthen/clay vessel, this is a rare oak cask from them.
That said, their house yeast structure is… intense. Admittedly, I don’t like most of their wines, and my biggest gripe is the heavy use of bretanomyces cultures. Again, if that’s your thing, go nuts. But I’d find something French and classic to get a real feel for the grape. Or try Red Newts PM
