Hello and welcome to Samuel Cook. Today I’m going to be cooking a quick salad because I’m going to be working this afternoon. So I won’t have a time or much time to cook when I come back from work. So the quick salad that I make today and you can use it probably when you go to the gym. So it’s going to be a raw beetroot, few peppers which is probably just the quarter of uh each pepper. So, I have some spring onion, cucumber, two tomatoes, two eggs, and um normally I’m carrots and normally I have a little bit of feta cheese, but then I check the fridge and the the feta cheese gone off, so I’m not going to use it. I also have some avocados and onion. So, I’m going to start right away and then um by chopping whatever need to be chopped and then I’m going to also show you how I make my vinegaret or the dressing that I use for the um for this salad. I also use um olives. So, whether it’s green or it’s up to you, but I like olives. Some people don’t like olives which is fair but then I do like olives. I having a plate I put my plate on the side and then with a knife you can use any knife you like. I usually like to use the bread knife because I find it comfortable. So I just take half of it. Take the thing off. I only need And then the green one as well. So So I keep the rest in a plastic bag and then put it back in the fridge. Can use it another time. it doesn’t uh it can stay a bit longer. Just give it a quick rinse and then afterward I just chop it. It’s up to you how you want to shop it because at the end of the day it’s a bit of salad but it’s very good because it’s got a lot of vegetables. So I mix everything together. Now I turn to my tomatoes. So I take the hand off. Then I cut it into two. But this time when I cut it into two, I cut it on the side. So I make some kind of um moons. And I put it back on the plate. I like my salad to be versatile. So, I like it to be full of vegetables. Now, cucumber. I’ll need probably quarter of this. I already used some of it today. So now I’m just using some of it. So the cucumber I just cut into two then chop it that way. Then I just put it next to Yeah. So far we have mixed pepper, tomato, um cucumber. Now with the carrot, I normally shred it. So I cut the two ends. And with the knife, with this knife, I just peel it off quickly. [Applause] Can I get a piece of paper? Because with the juice, with the vegetable juice, it gets a bit um soggy. So, I take this and I just start shredding my carrot. [Laughter] So now I’ll take the tank and put it in the middle. So far just going to give it a quick quick rinse. and a bit of um cleaning just a tiny bit. Now I move on to the beach root. So I take the end off and then with this I just peel the petru. I forgot to tell you because the bitr got some dust. So usually I wash it or scrub it and then wash it wash the skin off. So I don’t have any dust coming into the beetroot. You can either boil it which takes a long a long time which is like 2 3 hours boiling to get it soft or you can use it raw which I’m doing which is really nice as well. It’s very um red, so it gets very messy. Now I give it a quick wash. And again, I just peel it or shred it. I mean, sorry, not peel it. Shred it. Heat. Heat. So now we having our beetroot. So I’m going to add it to the plate which you can see here. So now we have cucumber, tomatoes, mixed pepper, shredded carrots, and then shredded beetroot. Um, I need some onions. So, I’m not going to take too much onions because I don’t like um I don’t like my mouth to smell of it. So, I take the quarter of the onion and I put the rest on the plate. I’m going to use with the whatever I have. Um you just put it in a small bag and then put it in the fridge. So, whatever is left, I put in a small bag and put it a small um freezer bag and I put it in the fridge so I can keep it for long. So, with the onion, I just chop it this way and then just open it. Then go back to the salad and just spread it on top. Now I have some avocados. I’m just gonna open them into two. You can take it off with this with a spoon or just it’s just because sometimes you have avocados which is just a tiny bit not good. So you need to clean that off. So now I’m just going to chop the avocados and just add them to my salad. Now I’m going to add as well as the avocados. I’m going to add two eggs. So the bo the boiled eggs. So all I need to do is just crack them and then peel them. And the way I peel them is just by using my finger like this. So it’s easy for me to just take it off. Just give it a quick rinse. Sometimes when I see that the egg is not peeling nicely, I just put it inside the boiled egg. I put it in a little bit of water. Leave it for a few seconds and that will peel off much quicker. So with the egg, I just cut it into four. and just add it to my salad. So, so far it’s looking nice. My second egg. So give it a quick rinse then cut it into. So, so far how this is how the salad is looking. Now, I have some green onion or spring onion, which I’m going to use now as well. So, I use this green onion. So, I take two of them. Just take the end off and just chop it to here. You can use this one is do if you’re doing stir fry, but I’m not doing any stir fry. So, I’m not going to use them. And by the time I do that, then they might go off. So, I just take the large one off here. The first one, the first skin off. Oh, I lost the second one. Give it a quick rinse. Then just chop it. So now I’m just going to spread it on the top. And what is left now is the olives. So I’m going to make I’m going to put a bit of olives and also so this is the salad and this is how it looks like. So, he’s got tomato, um, cucumber, beet shredded beetroot, shredded carrots, avocado, eggs, onion, spring onion, olives, and um, some mixed pepper, which you can see just underneath here. So, I got some mixed pepper, which is there, green, yellow, and um, and uh, red. And I’m also not using the whole pepper. So I’m using just a tiny bit of it, which is the quarter of each pepper. Now I’m going to go to my dressing, which is very easy to make and it shouldn’t take long. So with my dressing I use one uh garlic cloth which I’m going to shoot shop or you can also use the garlic powder if you don’t have much time like myself. So what I do is just chop it this this way first. Then chop it one more time on this side. And then just chop it slowly. So this is how I do my pepper and my my garlic. And you can also use this machine, this small utensil, which is also easy to, you know, just, but I like my garlic to be a bit um crunchy. So, I like to taste the garlic while I’m eating my salad. So, I take um I take a small bowl and I put my garlic inside. About 2 or 3 tablespoon of olive oil. A bit of lemon. A bit of salt and a tiny bit of black pepper. Um, sometimes um, I can find it now. Sometimes I use Dijon mustard, but I’m not using it today because I don’t have my kids has uh, eaten all the the mustard. So now I end up not having any mustard. So I just shred it. H sorry um wix it. Then we this salad which got tomato, mixed pepper, um shredded beetroot, avocado, cucumber, shredded carrots, onion, spring onion, eggs and olives. And sometimes I use feta cheese which gives a really really nice taste to it. So, I just spread the the vinegaret or the dressing over it. And then this is the salad made for you. So, this is the salad that I made. So, he’s got some um tomato, mixed pepper, which is underneath. Um cucumber, avocados, shredded beetroot, shredded carrots, eggs, onion, spring onion, sweet corn, olives, and I usually uh like feta cheese because I do like cheese very much. Um but feta cheese give it um a nice taste. So that’s what I usually use with my salad. And for the dressing, I’ve been using 3 tablespoon of olive oil, some lemon, some garlic, and some salt and pepper. Very simple, very quick to make. Uh, it only took me around half an hour to make all this salad. So, it shouldn’t take long. So, I hope you like the video. Please remember to like and subscribe and share it with your friends.
