I upgraded my home smoker to a Recteq Dual fire and didnt know what exactly i should do with my old Z-Grill. My in-laws have a lake property we go to in summer and stay in our camper, and we like going camping in the fall, so I figured it would be nice to have.
My wife was less than amused but she sure didnt complain when I was smoking ribs at the campsite this weekend.
I want to make it swivel but I just needed to see if it would work properly. Also need to move the taillight to see it better when on the road.

Pretty cool, I think as long as you have a way to keep it covered when not in use it’s A-Ok

If it swivels away from the camper during use, great! If not…… appears to be a fire hazard.

Hopefully that thing can dismount. That shits a fire hazard otherwise.

Good way to cause a massive fire if you’re not removing that before use.

Unless it swings way away from the camper, that’s a no from me dawg. I’ll never forget the time I went camping and saw a brand new, shiney white Grand Design with a wavy patch and smoke/grease stains.

I tie my komado down in the bed of the truck and cook at a reasonable distance from the camper. Lifting straps are a game changer, takes 10 seconds to load and 3 points of contact for the tie downs.

I have a sheet of asbestos in my basement you can borrow if you really like this set up though.

I assume you have insurance and about 15 years of payments left on that trailer? If so, solid plan

What about a roller set up? Maybe French cleats of steel to attach once in position? Should be able to install a rolling/sliding setup under the trailer. Store bbq in camper while driving.

Great way to smoke a brisket while on the road and when you reach the destination it’ll be done

Man…idk how I feel about this. I love smoking and it’s cool but idk how I feel about smoking when I’m camping. Considering how hands on smoking is in terms of monitoring temps and fuel levels. When I’m camping I’m usually barely at the camper, instead I’m out fishing, hiking, or golfing depending on where I’m at.

Yeah man I dig it just make it slide out then swivel to the side every body gonna be jealous.

How to delaminate your RV or burn it to the ground in one simple step.

OP, you’re halfway to awesome. Your mount needs three 2-foot arms that swivel so it can swing out and away from the RV.

Imagine he’s driving down the road and you think it’s someone’s shitty exhaust but instead it’s delicious meats.

  13. Worked at a trailer place and we sold a couple of these on new trailers. Always seemed like a questionable idea due to the fire hazard, there’s a lot of flammable stuff in trailers

Your whole trailer is going to be a smoker.

Your camper is gonna look like one of those wood big green egg tables.

  16. Maybe OP actually wants to smoke the camper. 😛

So does it run while you’re driving?
    This is important.

My pellet smoker has caught fire probably 10 times in 4 different ways and I keep it clean. I’m always right there to catch it but it’s still terrifying. I can’t imagine strapping one of these to the side of a travel trailer.
