You don’t have to fly to the Mediterranean to try the best olive oil in the world. After all, Azeite Sabiá – from the interior of São Paulo – won first place in Flos Olei 2025, a competition that evaluates olive oils from various countries and recognizes the excellence of the best producers.
In addition, Azeite Sabiá also won the title of best blend in the Southern Hemisphere in another international competition. These awards prove the quality of São Paulo’s olive oil and make it a true Brazilian “liquid gold”.
From Mantiqueira to the world: the best olive oil is from São Paulo
Azeite Sabiá was born in 2024 by the couple Bia Pereira and Bob Costa, who were passionate about olive growing. The brand launched its first commercial label in 2020 and has since been a highlight in international competitions thanks to its taste and quality. Production takes place in Santo Antônio do Pinhal, in the Serra da Mantiqueira, a region that has become a benchmark for high-quality olive oils.
Koroneiki, considered the best olive oil in the world in the medium fruity category, is made from the Greek olive variety of the same name. Its fresh flavor balances spiciness and bitterness, with notes of tomato leaf and green apple.
The label costs R$125, but is currently out of stock on the Sabiá Olive Oil website. You can also find it in physical stores, just check your nearest one at this link.

The label combines the Arbequina, Arbosana, Koroneiki and Coratina varieties and pairs well with seafood, pizza, pasta and meat. Like Koroneiki, Blend de Terroir costs R$125, but is out of stock. If you want to try it, look for it in the physical stores indicated by the producer.
