After a $300 meal at Anajak (previous post), went to our neighborhood favorite Hoy ka in Hollywood. 4 people – $113.59 with taxes.
New re-designed menu looks cool.
- Panang curry with chicken with rice – $17
- Satay – $14
- Ka Prao with ground chicken (ala carte) – $18
- Cashew nut chicken over rice – $16
- Pad see ew with chicken – $16
- Egg rolls – $12
Jasmine rice – $2.5, Diet Coke – $3 and Thai iced coffee – $5.
Great food, great vibes. Got some leftovers for today’s lunch.

Better than anajak?
I’m 90% positive Noree and Fern from Luv2eat started out at hoy is before opening their own place.
It’s so bizarre that Anajak is what it is now, a million and three years ago, you could get drunk in back of Groove Riders or the Horseshoe Cafe & wander over to Anajak for a glass noodle salad and Penang curry, then hang out at Borders and listen to music. At least I did.
I adore Hoy Ka. Looks delicious.
Love this place – what a classic Thai cafe is all about
Hoy Ka is one of my faves!!
Their lunch set menu is great and even cheaper
people from your last post: “DRI AGED FYSH PROGRAM SO THE FRIED RICE SHOULD BE €25”
I love Hoy Ka. The food is delicious and the staff is the absolute sweetest.
I’ve been to Hoy Ka several times and never got disappointed with their food. Great curry, noodles, rice dishes and eggplant with pork belly and Thai basil in particular. I prefer it to Luv2Eat and Noree Thai, both of which I find a tad too sweet. Never been to Anajak so I can’t compare, but I heard that place is not really worth the $$
Love their crispy pork
I miss when production paid for lunch, mmmmmmhoykaaaaa
They need to sell that tshirt and post card.
ohhh that panang curry looks GOOOOOD
I love that place!
Just want to give a strong recommendation for the Hoy Ka noodle soup. It’s not only my favorite thing on their menu, it’s one of my favorite dishes in LA. Especially amazing if you’re sick or hungover!
Their peanut sauce is remarkable!
You didn’t get the hoyka noodles??
