After trying the great El Yucateco sauces (and becoming a fan), I wonder if Encona sauces are any good?

  1. I’ve tried a couple in the past, and found them tasty. I stopped buying them because they weren’t very spicy for my liking. It’s been a couple of years, so maybe now they pack better heat.

I only tried the one with an alligator on the label. It tasted good, decent heat, but it was like a hot ketchup of sorts rather than a hot sauce.

Tasted good with pastas and other stuff that pairs well with tomato sauce, rather than a good all arounder, good taste, limited scope. And it goes out fast.

Their scotch bonnet sauce is delicious – not very hot, but such a lovely fruity flavour

Good bang for their buck (They are everywhere in the Uk)

Reaper if you can find and scotch bonnet are my fab. Good heat.

I love Encona! The West Indian Exxxtra Hot Pepper Sauce is my favourite, or, if I can’t get that, the West Indian Original Hot Pepper Sauce. Good heat and very vinegary.

  7. They’re all pretty great, go to hot sauce for lots of Brits.

Like others have said, their scotch bonnet one tastes good. I’ve tried the exxxtra hot one, which I found to pack a good punch of heat, but tastes awful imo.

The original is really tasty and has enough of a kick to be worthwhile without being overpowering or causing… gastrointestinal distress.

A good daily driver of a sauce

Not very spicy, but absolutely delicious.

  11. Originals the hottest but not the most flavoursome.
