“I have one fresh cauliflower here. I’m cutting out a big, thick slice – just like a steak. Don’t worry if some florets fall apart, you can bake them along with the steak too.”
🍳 “Now heat a pan. Add one spoon of extra virgin olive oil and a cube of butter. Place the cauliflower steak in the pan, season it with a little salt and pepper, and let it sear nicely on both sides. This step gives it that golden brown crust and enhances the flavor.”
[Step 2 – Making the Mushroom Mixture]
🍄 “While that’s happening, let’s prepare our creamy mushroom topping. In the same pan, I’m adding 200 grams of mushrooms. Sauté for a few seconds, then add one chopped onion. Sprinkle a little salt and cook until the onion turns soft and golden.”
“Now it’s time to make it creamy – add one spoon of sour cream and mix everything well. The aroma of mushrooms and onion with sour cream is just amazing!”
[Step 3 – Assembling & Baking]
🧀 “Our cauliflower steak is ready, and the mushroom mixture is ready too. Now, let’s assemble it. Place the cauliflower steak on a baking tray. Spread the mushroom mixture on top, and then sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese – or any cheese you love.”
🔥 “Bake it in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese turns golden brown and bubbly. And that’s it – our dish is ready!”
