I bought a shaker of ground pepper and then refill it by grinding peppercorns in the coffee grinder. The grind isn’t always consistent, but it works fairly well. Your tools must be cleaner than mine, I’d be hesitant to get my power drill out anywhere near food

I bought a couple pepper cannons…omg…amazing tool.
I’ve done that once or twice, but the spice grinder works a lot better for larger batches of rub

Am I the only one who uses a mortar & pestle?

Manual coffee grinders ftw

I bought a cheap pepper grinder from amazon with a hex spindle for just thls use case. Fresh ground pepper makes a homemade rub superior to almost all over priced retail rubs no matter what famous name is on the jar

I use those for pulling pork

I do, but my small 12v drill that I use is not the one covered with dirt, drywall compound, and grease. I go slow and use a low clutch, to make sure I don’t grenade the mill and waste that already ground 1/2c of pepper.

Don’t let any of these haters get to you. I did that for years before I got a spice grinder. Not sure why people think it’s not sanitary. It never touches the pepper and supercharges the process.
I started that way and burned out a drill. I was making a 5 gallon bucket of my spice at a time. I now use a heavy duty coffee grinder for it.

I’m in Texas 16 mesh pepper is way too cheap and easy to find. When I spent time in California that was a completely different story.

Big guns… Pffffftt…I challenge you to a duel! *Pulls out SDS-Max demolition hammer*
I’d be afraid my pepper grinder would die if I chucked it into a drill.

Dewalt couldnt handle it… I now use milwaukee for this

I love the process of mortar and pestle when it comes to prep. I have a rather bulky one ground from stone – and I love it. There’s something very traditional feeling about it – like touching the past.

No, but every time I chuck my impact/drill up to something unconventional, I 100% take a picture

I just did this yesterday lmao. Everyone thought I was a genius.

How am I the only one using a Magic Bullet for this?
Simple, multiple blade options, and is an immediate shaker.

I just use the preground Costco pepper personally
I got one of these. It’s not cheap but it works really well and fast https://www.surlatable.com/product/sur-la-table-ratchet-mills/3822525
