Tuscany, Italy has come to Eataly, Lower Manhattan.
The neighborhood outpost of the Italian food mecca recently opened the new marketplace and restaurant Firenze Ristorante Toscano & Bar. Its menu offers up classic cuisine of central Italy, along with an expertly crafted wine list and a bespoke cocktail program with an Italian twist.
Firenze serves primarily traditional Tuscan fare such as cecina (a chickpea flatbread), ribollita (stewed beans, a staple comfort food in Tuscany) and bistecca alla Fiorentina (porterhouse steak with strict guidelines known only in Tuscany). The restaurant also offers a big selection of pastas, fish and chicken dishes.
The wine list features more than 300 selections representing the vineyards of Tuscany; the cocktail list honors the region too with drinks named after landmarks, as well as a menu of martinis made with only Italian ingredients. The eatery hopes you’ll round out your meal in the traditional Tuscan way: with some dessert wine and selections from the dessert cart.
Visit the restaurant’s website for menus or to book a table.
