“Giant Lobster: Catch, Clean, and Cook” is a title frequently used for videos and shows, particularly on YouTube, that follow a common format: a person or group goes out to catch a large lobster (often a spiny or rock lobster, which doesn’t have the large edible claws of a Maine lobster), and then demonstrates how to prepare and cook it.
These videos often feature:
The Catch: This segment shows the hunt for the lobster. Depending on the location and type of lobster, this might involve free diving, spearfishing, using traps or hoop nets, or even just searching in rock pools.
The Clean: This part demonstrates how to humanely kill and clean the lobster, preparing it for cooking. This is a crucial step for many viewers who want to learn the proper way to handle fresh seafood.
The Cook: This final segment shows the cooking process. Recipes can range from simple preparations like grilling or roasting to more complex dishes like lobster fra diavolo, lobster bisque, or stuffing. The focus is on a delicious, often simple, recipe that highlights the fresh catch.
The videos are popular with audiences interested in fishing, diving, cooking, and the “ocean-to-table” or “catch-and-cook” lifestyle. They showcase the adventure of catching your own food and the satisfaction of preparing a fresh, gourmet meal

I’m going to call it. I’m going to say that these crayfish legs are going to be well done. So, not well done, perfectly done. Would have been about 15 minutes. Have a look at that. That is looking absolutely incredible. What I’m going to do straight off the bat, pick it up, use the back of your knife. See how these knives got a little groove in it? You can slide that into your camp oven. Little bit of strength. You’ll pick her up and we’re just going to walk it straight down to the water line. We’re going to put it here. Open that lid up. And we’re just going to exchange that that hot water for cold water. The key is to cooking it in salt water. It always tastes so much better. So, here is the perfect cooking coals. We’re just going to slide this little tray straight on top like that. Get our leaf. Just give them a little flogging. Going to get that flavor all over. It’ll make the fire really smoky. Then what you’re going to do, you flip them up just like this. It is a perfect golden brown crayfish chunks. Have a look at that. That is perfectly cooked golden brown crayfish chunks right there. Oh my god.
