Grilled some wings for the family. My 14 year old made a sriracha honey glaze that we basted after removing from the grill that was delicious. Question: better to baste on the grill or after removing?

Since youre asking for advice ill answer. Better to get those things dry as you can before putting them on the grill. The skin on these looks pretty undercooked and chewy. When I grill, I get skin crisp and wait until the skin on the end just starts to pull away from the bone. This is a good indicator to me that they’re almost ready to pull. Once I see that and the skin is crisp, ill baste while they’re on the grill on one side and let them sit for a second so the sauce heats up and begins to thicken. Then I flip and do the other side. Flip once more to crisp up that side quickly and then pull them off. Alternatively you could pull them all off, dump them in a bowl with the sauce and then throw them back on the grill.

Grilled wings should have char, those look sad and chewy.
