Western United Fish Company, operating as Annasea Foods Group in Kent, Washington, announced a recall of 3,314.7 pounds of Kirkland Signature brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke on September 20, 2025. The recall affects products with a sell-by date of September 22, 2025, sold under Costco item number 17193.
The recall was issued after the company was informed by its green onion supplier that the green onions used exclusively in this product tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. This bacterium can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may experience symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Pregnant women are at risk of serious complications.
The affected product is packaged in clear plastic clamshell containers labeled with the Kirkland Signature brand, a pack date of September 18, 2025, and a sell-by date of September 22, 2025.
This product was distributed in the deli sections of Costco Warehouse stores across 36 states, including Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke are advised not to consume it. They should dispose of the product immediately and may obtain a full refund at their local Costco store.
