[Music] [Music] Hey girlfriend friends, welcome to my kitchen. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Sheila. I’m a former personal chef who believes in simple, soulful, and intuitive cooking made with what I have in my kitchen. Today I’m going to be making a white tuskcin um bean and what else do I have in it? Kale, red lentils. Well, you’ll see. But anyway, you know what to do. Go get yourself something to drink. Go get a snack. Come on back and let’s get started. I’m going to be making some white jeans and some less. I’m just checking out my little inventory of what I have. I’ve got some regular lentils right here. Some red lentils right here. Some kidney beans right here. Here’s my white beans right here. And my split peas right here. So, I’m not planning to do any shopping. I’m using what I have in my pantry because this is one of those weeks where I just don’t have the money after spending $159 about probably about a week and a half ago for groceries. Talk about inflation. Oh no. So yes, this is my grocery shopping today in my pantry. So, I guess I’ll get out my white beans and soak them and I’ll um soak them overnight. Yes. So, I’ll take see how much I have. I think I have enough. I’m going to do this in the crock pot. And I think I want to mix some I think I’ll mix them with some of this um red lentils as well. And I got some potatoes. But meanwhile, I’m just going to go ahead put these in a bowl of water and let them soak overnight. I’mma let these soak overnight. [Applause] [Applause] cornbread is one of those simple recipes that just makes everything feel like home. All I’m doing here is mixing up the batter. Nothing fancy, just a good stir until it all comes together. The trick is not to overwork the batter. You just want it combined so that it bakes up nice and tender. This is the perfect side for soups, beans, or even just with a little butter. It’s such a comfort food. I grew up making bread most of the time, but cornbread is a nice alternative. Great comfort food. After mixing, you want to put it into a preheated oven, 400Β° for about 15 to 20 minutes or until it’s golden brown. Well, girlfriends, that does it for me today. I’m going to go eat my soup, enjoy my cornbread, and relax and get ready for the week ahead. Oh, I wanted to also tell you if you want more, I have a podcast now. It’s called No Reinvention Needed, Just to Return. It’s new on Spotify and we will discuss things that are pertinent to us as we are going through our second act in life. I hope to see you there. It’s every Thursday on Spotify. Please leave any type of comments, questions you have for me. I would love to hear just how you make your soups, just how you make everything. Anyway, take care and I’ll see you next time. Bye.
