bienvenidos and welcome to another episode of Spain on a fork so we’ve done a lot of tuna sandwiches here on the show as you know one of my favorite sandwiches ever however I tell you the version we’re making today might just be
the best one we’re talking a creamy no mayo tuna salad sandwich now what gives this tuna
salad that incredible creamy goodness is not mayonnaise like it states in the title or even
Greek yogurt we’re actually going to use cottage cheese which is what takes this tuna salad sandwich to the next level of goodness folks we’re talking easy to make simple everyday ingredients and
the best part done within minutes alright let’s just jump right into this I’m going
to drain two cans of tuna in olive oil into a fine sieve with a bowl underneath size
of the cans that I’m using are 4 ounces which is 110 g each link where you can get the Spanish tuna I’m using in the description box below then we’ll gently flake the tuna
to remove any of the excess oil and transfer the tuna into a large bowl then we’ll add in half a cup of
cottage cheese over the tuna which is 120 g I’m using low fat but you can
also use full fat or even non-fat if you like we’ll also add in 1 tbsp of dijon mustard
which is 14 g 1/3 cup of chopped red onion which is 50 g 1/4 cup of chopped
celery which is 30 g one clove of garlic that’s been finely grated 1/4 cup
of chopped dill pickles which is 35 g and two tablespoons of chopped
chives which is about 5 g then we’ll squeeze in two teaspoons of
fresh lemon juice which is 10 ml and season with sea salt and a generous
portion of freshly cracked black pepper and we’ll give it a mix until it’s
well mixed together and if you see that your mixture is too dry just
add in some more cottage cheese once everything is well mixed we’ll push
down on the mixture until we end up with a paste-like texture this is to ensure that
all the ingredients are well bound together and we’ll also thinly slice one large tomato and reserve a handful of some shredded
iceberg lettuce for the next step let’s start prepping the bread I’m going to grab
a couple slices of sandwich bread and lightly toast them I’m using multi-grain but you can use whatever bread you like the most important thing like I always tell you make sure to lightly toast
it that way once you add the ingredients in there it doesn’t get mushy and break
apart to assemble the sandwiches we’ll add in some of the tuna
mixture over a slice of toast and then top it off with some slices of tomato and some shredded lettuce and check it out folks our creamy no mayo
tuna salad sandwich is done easy to make simple everyday ingredients and all
done within minutes let’s give this a try and see how it turned out once again
folks a creamy no mayo tuna salad sandwich that’s a tongue twister creamy no mayo tuna salad sandwich either way moment of truth here we go no! I spilled a little bit check that out you know like I told you at the beginning
I love a good tuna sandwich but this one right here truly stands out above the rest.
It’s got so many great textures and flavors and that cottage cheese takes it to the next
level easy to make heart healthy ingredients give it a try at home next to a handful of
chips and a couple ice cold beers or even some chill club soda you’re gonna have yourself a fabulous meal real quick before I go a shout out to a couple of my patreons Juan Iturri, Rob Haskins and Daniela Brandt again guys thank you so much for being patreons of Spain on a fork you know

  1. Excellent! Cottage cheese. That’s sounds awesome. I’m a big fan of your tuna sandwich recipes.

  2. I made your lentil stew for the second time over the last weekend. But I had to take the potatoes out because I freeze the leftovers and potatoes don't freeze well. The leftovers are sitting on my sink right now waiting for me to heat it up for supper. It's LOVELY!

  3. Been eating the cucumber sandwich 7 days in a row. I eat fish or tuna on Friday's. Will try this recipe. never put Dijon mustard which I like therefore will try.

  4. Ha! Wipe that floor…. I’ll be using my home grown lettuce, Tomatoes and red onions .. looks great. Do you have any suggestions on what to do with that drained oil from the tuna?

  5. I’ve made tuna salad for years (mayo, sour cream, or yogurt), but never thought of using cottage cheese. I love cottage cheese, and will definitely switch to your recipe. Thanks, Albert! ❤️

  6. Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered , “ It is written : Man shall not live on bread alone , but on every word that comes from the mouth of GOD. “🙏🏼❤️🕊Repent, believe in the Gospel, Be Born Again

  7. Looks yummy! Honestly, there’s a part of me hoping some falls out when you bite into your sandwich just to see your reaction. 😂.

  8. Albert: Delicious!😋 I used to make sandwiches just like this, but I was so PO' (could not
afford the other "O" and the "R") that I was too embarassed to tell anyone just how PO' I was.
Now, years later, I can tell them I learned this from Spain On A Fork (my favorite cookbook)!!!
Thanks again. (Fan from San Francisco, California.) *!!~

  9. Якщо Ви не на похуданні то можна взяти тунець в олії і її не зливати. Тоді буде соковитіше і м'якше.

  10. Wow! That looks delicious! I never would have guessed tuna would be made with cottage cheese. I need to get some cottage cheese ASAP! Thank you for once again sharing a new recipe. With ❤ from Texas 🇺🇸

  11. Love these recipes, they are relatively easy to vegetarian and veganise which is great. Going to try this with chickpeas instead of tuna. ❤ Do you have a cookbook?

  12. Gracias! 😊 This I like very, very much. I'll experiment with different breads because I think this will make a meaningful difference. Keep up the good work 👍

  13. This is fantastic. Thank you! I’m allergic to eggs – developed my allergy as an adult, and I miss staples like tuna salad sandwiches. Cheers!

  14. Amazing recipe Albert. Let me tell a thing: you blend the cottage cheese to get a smoothy and velvety texture, like a mayo.

  15. Wow! You just blew my mind! I NEVER thought of using cottage cheese. Briliant. And so healthy! I can't wait to try it!

  16. I always doubt the quality of the olive oil in canned tuna and use tuna in brine and the olive oil of my choice.

  17. Thank you for including the weight of the ingredients! Really helpful when calorie counting 🫡
