The problem with the Michelin Guide in Turkey is that the Government heavily influences it. Therefore, the recommendations for Turkey have to be taken with a grain of salt.
Despite this, The Red Balloon stands out from the fine-dining competition in Istanbul, as the head chef, Ulaş Durmaz, wants to prove himself, given his young age of only 26 years, by independent international fine dining standards.
For me, this was one of the few experiences in which I became interested into which direction the menu will develop in future.

How much was it in terms of price?
Outside of the markets where the guide already existed, the local government in every guide has major influence. Theyre paying for the guide to be there. They get a say.
