Hubs and I were in Trastevere a number of years ago. He ordered pasta with cheddar cheese sauce. No sides came with it. Equivalent of $30. It was Kraft mac n cheese. Trastevere is the hip young neighborhood. $$$$

I vote to ban the tiramisu in a coffee maker posts. It’s been on here a thousand times, and yes, there are many reasons it sucks, but at this point it’s pretty much the normal way of serving tiramisu.
Dining in Rome is a complete mission. I’ve been many times and can only remember one decent meal which ironically was next to the pretty seedy central station. I’ve never had this issue anywhere else in Italy, even Venice
