I had the pleasure of spending my birthday at Sepia over the weekend. The service itself and attentiveness were truly outstanding. I wasn’t necessarily blown away by every course, but all together we had a remarkable evening. For $125 a head, this place is worth a visit.

Highlights –

  1. Beef carpaccio with spring onion and onion consommé. Every bite was simply luxurious.

  2. Dessert – Erin Kobler is crafting up something special in that kitchen. I can say, without a doubt, this was one of the best desserts i’ve ever had.

Lowlights –

  1. Sablefish & Sea Urchin. It didn’t quite work for me. Conflicting textures, the plating was messy and the thai-inspired consommé was too aggressive. Each component was tasty itself just not together.

Surprises –

  1. The kale served alongside the Halibut was like eating a cigarette. I loved it, but I also understand that it may not be for everyone.

Hoping to be back soon!
