Timed myself at a purposely casual pace (trying to keep the time realistic) cleaning up my fryer last night. Turned on the stop watch then took it apart, wiped down the element, poured the oil into a container, and filled the container with the basket inside with dish soap and hot water. Then poured it off did a once over with a sponge, rinsed, hand dried everything, put it back together, then stopped the time. Rounding up it took 4 minutes and 33 seconds of “work” at a very casual pace. For anyone that wants to fry wings but doest because you have frequently read here it is a giant pain. This post is for you.

How much did the container of used oil weigh, and what did you do with it?
I’ve held off on getting a fryer like this due to the clean up process as well as the claim that there is always a lingering smell of oil.
How do you store this appliance and is there a lingering oil smell in the area it’s stored?
